exchanging dollars

Hi...leaving for london in 2 days...woohoo
is it pricey to exchange dollars for pounds at heathrow?...curious about fees
is it cheaper to exchange once in london?...or just use atm's there...thanks

For the best exchange rate just use ATMs (you won't get charged here to use them - only by your own bank in the US). There's billions of them , including at the airport.

ty kate...i suspected as much after reading all the posts i could

ATMs are all over. Just know what the conversion is mentally as the machine will ask you how many euros you want, not dollars. Beats sitting there thinking about it with people in line behind you.

Bob1, Am I missing something? Did England switch to the Euro, or are you assuming that friardave is flying to London but vacationing in Europe? Not judging, just curious. He did say Pounds, right?
