Exchange Paris Visite 1-3 for 1-5?
I bought a Paris Pass package and got it in the mail and then realized that I would actually benefit from having a zone 1-5 pass instead of 1-3. Is there any place that I could turn in the zone 1-3 and get a 1-5 when I get to Paris - like a tourist office or something?
thanks.
thanks.

I don't believe that is any public product, it's a private company selling those, isn't it?
THese are their terms
http://www.parispass.com/contact-par...onditions.html
They clearly state NO exchanges or refunds. YOu can cancel within 14 days, tells you how.
I'd cancel it and not buy another one, it's not a good deal.
I don't believe they even sell a 5 zone pass, their product is solely the 3 zone one, from what I've read, so just cancel the whole thing.
Few people need a 5 zone pass, anyway, they are expensive, although I suppose if you intended to go there several times there might be a reason.

Not sure about the exchange, but I try the ticket office at one of the RER stations. I had a similar situation on a visit to Paris. I wanted to go to Fontaineblue (Zone 5) but only had a pass covering zone 3. What I did was go to a ticket office at the nearest RER station, Montparnasse in this case, and they sold me just a ticket from zone 3 to zone 5. Since 90% of your travel will be covered by your existing pass, you might want to consider just purchasing the additional ticket if you want to go to Versailles, Fontaineblue, or one of the airports

You can exchange a zone 1-3 Paris Visite for a zone 1-5. You just pay the difference in price. You should be able to do it at any métro station.
The Paris Pass itself is not a pass at all, just a collection of other passes/tickets; any of which could be purchased individually at far lower cost.

Thanks - The Paris Pass is a bundle of items that can be bought separately. I did see the notice about the refunds or exchanges. My family is going together on a trip (mom and husband, brother, wife & family and my husband and I). We agreed as a group to get the pass and only when I got it did I start figuring it out more.
Anyway the Paris Visite card seems like it's actually sold by Paris transit system and I was wondering if they would just let me upgrade to a different fare card somewhere and/or use the value I had already purchased to get to/from airport and Versaille. I live in USA - San Francisco Bay Area so love the idea of a all-purpose transit card for anywhere I want to go.
I thank you agedude and sarastro for the two different answers that seem like they will work for me.
CHEERS.
Cheers!

If possible, my first priority would be to obtain a refund from the Paris Pass which is, in my opinion, perhaps the biggest tourist ripoff currently on the market.
If that cannot be done, you could ask about exchanging the Paris Visites you now have for something more useful. I know you can exchange the zone 1-3 pass for a zone 1-5 pass at any métro/RER location simply paying the price difference. Here is what the zone 1-5 pass costs:
1 day - 23.50€
2 day - 35.70€
3 day - 50.05€
5 day - 61.25€
Compare that with a Navigo Découverte pass, valid from any Monday to the follow Sunday, which costs 5€ for the blank pass (usable for 10+ years), and loaded with a zone 1-5 fare for only 35.40€.
You would need to ask if you could exchange the Paris Visite passes you have for a Navigo Découverte pass if the latter works for you.
