Excellent restaurants in Sevilla and Barcelona?
 

Anyone have places that are authentic, good and fun? We'll be there next week. Thx

In the Marcat de la Boqueria.....El Quim....great place to grab tapas/wine.
Right in the mix of the market...great food & fun spot for a lively lunch!!

In Barcelona, my Mother and I enjoyed a great variety of tapas and house wine at Mikel Etxea, on C/ Ferran 15. Paid about $40 for everything.

Seville - notes from my journal (1996):
PIZZERIA SAN MARCO
C. Meson de Moro 6, Seville.
This is off Calle Mateos Gago where we stayed at Hostal Goya. This restaurant is located inside an old Arab bathhouse. Great Italian food and great prices. We ate here twice we enjoyed it so much. Get there as it opens because it packs up quickly. We had Scalopini de Gorgonzola with fettucini, salad, and wine. Moms scalopini came with a marsala sauce; tiramisu for dessert. $34. Another time I had a lasagna type dish, which came in a casserole (hot and bubbly) with mortadella, cheese, tomato and eggplant. Mom had crepes with ham and mushrooms in a bechamel sauce; red wine and tiramisu ($27). Very good meals here!

thanks for the ideas; we're staying at the alfonso in seville and H10 marina in Barcelona so I'll get out a map and chart these places.

sevilla:
taberna alabadero cooking school for lunch

el becerrito not far from casa pilatos

barcelona:" fernandez" on upper gracia, once you cross diagonal, then casa fuster 5 star hotel for cava or coffee afterwards.

REALLY special, pricey but unforgettable in barcelona, HOTEL NERI.

In Barcelona I highly recommend La Dolca Herminia at Magdalenes 27--2 blocks towards Ramblas from Palau de la Musica. Excellent food, very reasonably priced, and they even have a non-smoking section.
