Events in Paris

Usually cities have a publication telling special events in the city. Does Paris have such? Is it easily obtainable...perhaps at hotels, bookstands, etc. Thanks.

Yes, they have a least two comprehensive entertainment guides that cost a couple francs each and are TV-guide sized: Pariscope and L'Officiel des Spectacles. They come out Wed. and are available at all news kiosks (not at hotels unless they have a newstand). There are some more expensive English-language publications and magazines (ie, Paris) but you shouldn't need them. The ones I mentioned are in French but fairly understandable as listings.

The two guides Christina mentioned are indispensable. At Shakespeare & Co you can find free publications (in English) that list happenings in the city - not as complete as the two French guides, but might help with understanding what you can't figure out in the French guides.

There's a website (in French) that also lists stuff: http://www.paris.org/Calendar/
