Eurostar to London

We are traveling to Paris, and will be there 5 full days. One of those days, I want to travel by Eurostar to London. Do you have advice as to which day of the week would be best - Thursday thru Sat are available to swap around my itinerary.

I need to clarify - we will be in London only for that one particular day - leave and come back the same day.

Day return tickets are some of the cheapest Eurostar tickets and IME are more available on thursday rather than on weekends when more folks travel and thus the Day Return tickets, sold in limited numbers, may be more available and thus you may pay cheaper fare on thursdays but you can check all the various days at www.eurostar.com - where you will get fares in euros for departures from Paris. One thing you do not want to do is to just show up in Paris and buy tickets as you could pay much much more - so go to www.eurostar.com and book a ticket that is the cheapest for any of the days and do not wait as these cheapest tickets are sold in tiers of availability - Day Returns dictate a very early departure as well as you should want. You gain one hour on the clock going to London so the departure time back to Paris if given in London time would be an hour later than on the clock in London.

You sound as if you're going to wait until you get there to buy tickets, something I wouldn't do. You should consider buying them now online and in that event wouldn't have to wonder about the "best" day.

The best day is the cheapest.

The cheapest is determined by going to the Eurostar site now. This minute (if less than 12 wks from travel). That'll tell you prices for your candidate days.

Any time wasted (for example in asking advice from people who haven't go the faintest) before booking GUARANTEES the price will go up.

flimflam means jump now think about it later.
Poor advice IMO since the cheapest tickets are non-refundable non-changeable - see a price and then digest it and make sure that is what you want. and the Day Return fare is IME more available since it if often only bookable on a very few really early outbound trains - like bonafide Day Return travelers would want and these really early trains are the most available in general.

Thanks to all of you. I love this site; people are so knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge with novice travelers (like me!).
