Eurostar Tickets
Found a price of $180 one way first class through Travelpro.com. Is that a good price or would I be beetter off buying my ticket in Paris. By the way it is from Paris to London I am traveling

I think I remember getting a discount if you have a EuroPass--dont' know if you were going to get one, but if you do I am pretty sure (but not definite) you can get a lower rate!
P.S. I am assuming that you are from Indiana (Hoosier)...me too!!

Hi Hoosier,

The Eurostar website quotes $233 for one way first class.
|
Is there some particular reason you want to travel first class? A second class ticket will cost you $139, you'll have a comfortable seat, and you'll get to London just as fast.
|
Don't the first class cars arrive just a few seconds before second class?
|
flyaway - You're right, of course. But how many dollars are those saved seconds--and a shorter walk from the platform to the station--worth? <g>

I would buy in advance if possible. We were just there. Before we went, I had seen some very reasonable fares on the Eurostar website for booking in advance, but I did not purchase them. When we were in London, we went to book the tickets (round-trip, second class). The only fare available was over 190 pounds per person. It may depend on how full the train is and how close to the departure date you are booking, but just a consideration...
I wouldn't say first class is necessary - second class was fine and we even enjoyed our sandwiches from the cafe car - but we did discuss the fact that we might want to try first class ourselves next time just for the heck of it.
