Eurostar price question
 

If I click on the US site the price for a one-way Eurostar ticket London-Brussels is $104.00 pp. But if I click on the UK site it's only £44.00. For a family of 4 that is a $67.00 difference (a lunch tab in London).

We have friends in London where we can get the tickets mailed to their home. If I purchase the ticket in £££ but use Capital One cc, will Eurostar reject/accept this? Or should I get my friend to purchase the tickets using a UK cc? Is this acceptable? Will we have problems when we board Eurostar - like comparing our passports to some markings on Eurostar tickets that says the purchaser is a UK resident? Never been on a Eurostar so don't know how the ticket looks like. Thank you for all replies.

I don't really know but the ticket is only used twice, that I can think of. Once when you push it through the electronic machine which then lets you through the barrier into arrivals, and again on the train it is sometimes checked by the conductor.

I can't imagine you would have a problem if your friends in the UK bought your tickets for you. You could also try using your American credit card and see if it works. After all, you could be American, have an American credit card but LIVE in the UK. Then it would be perfectly legitimate.

From memory, the ticket checking and passport checking are done separately by different people - Eurostar staff for the ticket and immigration for the passport.

I should emphasise that I've never done what I'm suggesting you can do!

If you look at the website it asks for your country of RESIDENCY, so book the tickets as UK and pick up at station
