Eurostar, Night Line
 

I need advice...Should I buy my Eurostar ticket London to Paris (one way) here in the US for $125 (online purchase) or can I buy that ticket at the station in London for significantly less? I would be buying the ticket for same day travel. Upon arrival in Paris, I am then going to want to directly take the Night Line from Paris to Munich, so where is the most economical place to buy that ticket? Any idea of how much it costs buying that ticket day of travel?

I won't answer all the questions, but definitely buy the Eurostar here - the further out you can book, the better the prices will be. As you get closer to your travel date, the prices increase.

If your ultimate destination is Munich is London - Paris - Munich the best route ? Would you be better served by flying ?

Eurostar prices are like planes - the closer to departure the more you pay. Also you pay more for the most popular trains (times). If you know your date of travel then but the ticket as soon as possible.

Not only should you buy your ticket as far ahead as possible from the Eurostar site (not somewhere like Rail Europe), you should check eurostar.co.uk to see if the prices are cheaper there than on eurostar.com (making allowance for foreign conversion fees if you don't have a Capital One credit card).

As stated by the other posters, but the eurostar ticket in advance. They are much more expensive on the day and they may actually by fully booked.

If you are worried about a fixed departure date, perhaps pay a littel extra for a semi-flexible ticket.

So why are you taking a train from London to Munich? Easyjet, BA & Germanwings all fly that route from London and whilst train is the best way from London to Paris I wouldn't seriously consider it for any other trip to the Continent
