Just flew from London Gatwick to CDG in Paris. Was pretty cheap, but it took me forever to get to my destination.
Also if I factored in the cost of getting to and from the airport, it would have been a wash.In Paris I had to wait 50 minutes for my luggage.I had never seen such bad baggage handling.
Four or five bags would hit the carrousel at a time, then it would stop.
Then for or five more would appear.
THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN. So take the train.

I'm with the Eurostar fans. While the countryside may become boring after awhile, what do you expect? A stage show? Come on -- it's a train! All you see from the sky are clouds. And let's face it, in order to take a plane from London to Paris you need to take a train or some other method of transportation in order to get to the airport.

In saying that, I do have to agree that there needs to be a better way to handle the luggage. I tend to travel light, but I still had some problems actually getting my luggage onto the train.

Ken's experience sounds awful. I would certainly be put out - and put off of the Eurostar. However, travel is travel. Nothing ever goes according to plan...and don't those things make the best stories?
