eurostar

Does anyone know if it is cheaper to pre book eurostar PAris to London or is the same sort of price if we just turn up on the day. At the moment on the website it is saying 116 euros for June is it cheaper the earlier you book it etc.

It certainly is cheaper to book in advance. If you just turn up on the day, the fares are outrageous.

"<i> . . . or is the same sort of price if we just turn up on the day.</i>" :-d

Try it and you'll have huge sticker shock.

Plus...if you wanted to travel on the 'wrong' day.. could be sold out.

Plus different trains (times) are different prices. They operate on the the airline system of ticket pricing (and low price tickets for popular trains may be very limited). If you can commit to a time you can save a lot by buying early.

I saved about 100 euros a ticket by booking well in advance. The prices for buying on the spot, if you can even get on the train you want, are outlandish.

thanks everyone, I was pretty sure this would be the case and did a check on tomorrows prices compared to Junes and the difference was 200 euro, but just wanted to confirm with the experts on Fodors.
