Europe's Most Famous Streets? Or...

avenues, boulevards, etc. Recently on another thread Paris' Champs-Elysees avenue was mentioned and I said I thought it was Europe's most famous street. For whatever reason - justly or not I think it is.

But what are other very famous streets in Europe? Just by name recognition?

Someone mentioned before the Via Appia or Appian Way and yeh that would be but talking about real streets used today?

Comes to mind:

The Royal Mile, Edinburgh
Oxford St, London
Via Cavour, Rome
The Grand' Canale, Venice (yeh a street!)
The Ring, Vienna
The Ramblas, Barcelona
Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich
Abbey Road, London
The Mall, London
???????

Not famous by name, but I would put Paris' Rue Montorgueil on the list simply because it is the subject of a well know Monet painting and has changed little since Monet painted it
Also in Paris, La Pigalle

London has lots of them. a few more are
Downing St
Saville Row
and of course Carnaby Street

How could I forget Downing Street?

Paris - Rue Ravioli! ou Rivioli?

Was gonna say Carnaby St but thought too outdated for many but not on Fodor's!

In Rome, I would have picked Via Vittoria Veneto or Via del Corso, rather than Via Cavour.

To anyone who's read English literature, London has dozens of well-known streets. Fleet St. is another. The first time I was in London, it seemed that every time I turned around, there was another familiar street.

Imdonehere gets my tops marks

Downing street doesn't go anywhere which is poetic judgement

Avenue de Champagne in Epernay is easily the most attractive

La Croisette, Cannes

Since even canals are allowed, I'd also mention
Wenceslas Square, Prague (which is more like a wide boulevard than a street)
Red Square, Moscow
