Europebyair Question
 

How easy is it to fly Europebyair? We are thinking about flying London to Zagreb, returing Dubrovnik to Rome. Do you know approximately what the airport taxes would be. We are trying to get the lowest prices possible. We'll be arriving in London from the USA but can return by way of London, Paris or Rome. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

EuropebyAir is not an airline, it's a ticket discounter of sorts. Just used them for a Rome-Genoa flight on Air One. The "pass" was $99 and the airport taxes were 40 euros. Be sure to stop at the ticketing counter first to pay the taxes before going to the check-in counter.

There have been various reports of fares available on the airlines "covered" by Europebyair - - actually sold directly on those airlines' websites for fares well below the $99 price. Conversely, sometimes, the $99 price is much, much cheaper than anything the individual airline offers on its own.

Europebyair makes it clear what carrier serves the route you want to fly. Check that airline's website independently before you buy.

I know Ryan Air to Trieste is about $80.00, if there isn't something hidden in the price. It's the taxes thru EuropebyAir that concerned me. My sister and I don't like to travel on a schedule, so EuropebyAir looks like it's the way to go. Thanks for the info on stopping by the ticketing counter first.

Be careful with over-assuming that you can fly when you want, with a minimum of advance intention. I'm not saying this from experience, but it seems only common sense that you could face a situation where you want to go from point A to point B on your Europebyair "pass" on a particular Thursday (just choosing an arbitrary example) - - and it could be that there are no seats available until the following Tuesday. Some of these (relatively) more obscure routes don't have service everyday. And it goes without saying - - ANY flight can be totally and legitimately sold out, with simply no seats to be had. After all, these are regular (albeit lower-cost) airlines (in some cases) with regular scheduled service - - (i.e., not merely Europebyair customers) - - they're not goingto pull "regular" paying customers off a (completely sold out) flight, just to be able to accommodate you.

As I said, this is NOT based on actual experience with Europebyair, and on routes with "adequate"ly frequent service, it might be no big deal. Just not on EVERY route.

The taxes are charged no matter who does the booking.

#1. The $99 do not include taxes, which you need to pay separately at the airport.

#2. I think that booking changes do not incur a penalty. I can't recall if I've done this though. But this was the case a few years ago, I think. All you had to do is to check with the airline when you're in Europe and they'll let you know if seats are still available.

Yes, I agree that sometimes EuropeByAir can be cheaper. Sometimes the airline itself can be cheaper.

I last used them in October 04 for a flight from Lisbon to Malaga.

When I purchased the flight pass I also made a flight reservation. I wouldn't chance just showing up at the airport during high season.
