Auteuil is a pleasant but relatively upscale neighborhood and definitely not recommended for a budget traveler.

For Rome, you are at the far edge of the historic area (most people would consider it beyond) so it would be quite a trek to many things. You will need public transport or you will spend your days walking, not sightseeing. Rome is hilly so often it's not easy walking.

In the future, post here about your hotel budget and you will get suggestions for places centrally located in your budget.

I just checked your Paris hotel and the best rate I could find was 177 euro. I checked out 2 other hotels for triple rooms in MUCH better locations and got rates of 150 and 160 ( with breakast included).

Look at La Familia on rue des Ecoles in the Latin Quarter, several bus lines right outside the door and 2 metro stops. I also checked Deux Continents on Rue Jacob, in the 6th. Walking distance to the Louvre, D'Orsay, Notre dame , and The ET. Buses run along the quais and on Blvd St Germain that would get you anyplace you might want to go

I purchased the hotel in Paris a couple months ago- I just looked at what I paid & it was 83 euros- thats quite a difference from the 177 you see now (unless that was for all 3 nights of course!!) so even the "cheaper" hotels you found for 150 euro are beyond my budget for me to cancel (again, unless that is the three night price)

And next time I will absolutely check on here to see what you all think before I purchase my hotels!!!
