european destinations site

Has anyone ever used the europeandestinations website to book a customized vacation? R they legit? Any problems?

I have not used them. I looked at some sample packages and it looks like there is really nothing they offer that you cannot do on your own. The price seems to be good until you do the math yourself to find out that they use low end hotels located far away from the attractions to achieve these prices. You can do just as well while choosing your own hotels and transportation schedules. In that case, why add another party to muddle up accountabilities?

There are some postings on this subject http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...nationscom.cfm.

All group tours cut corners on the location of the hotels and on the food. Food on conventional tours is usually pedestrian. Companies do this to keep the price down to compete with other companies pricing similar itineraries.

Agree with greg, I use it to get an idea of what a trip could cost, and then go elsewhere to book everything. Doing this, I have found booking things separately on your own is less expensive, and often more convenient (better hotel locations, flights, etc.).
