european barter

Any suggestions about merchandise that might be in demand in Germany,Austria, Italy. I'm thinking about taking stuff that the locals may not be able to get readily but would really like ie levis, cd's ????

Please tell me this is a joke. Things a little slow at the office this morning?

Too obvious a troll - even for me!

My dear, you don't come out of this well either way. Give it a rest please.

Well, I learned a new word (barter). I had to look it up from a dictionary.

This reminds me of the cold war days, when visitors behind the "iron curtain" were anxious for visitors to sneak in levis and other objects and trade them.. But alas, Germany, Austria, and Italy all may have surpassed the US in their general standard of living. People are not sitting there waiting for people from the outside world to bring them things they have no access to. Believe it or not most people there even have electricity and inside plumbing too!!

We took pens, paper, candy for the kids and Marlboros for the adults when we visited Andalucya, Spain. They were very gratefully received I can tell you!

Chocolate, cigarettes and nylon stockings.

Careful, Ira, you're showing your age!

Gee,

My Dad and my uncles said that they got along very well that way.
