I agree with the others. Quad rooms are very rare in Europe. Hotels may only have 1 or 2 if any. For a family of 4, you most definitely have to book in advance, or priceline 2 rooms. A very nice 2* in FLorence is Hotel Casci and they have a quad.

I agree with the Casci in Florence. We travel with our children so always need a quad room. In Rome the Hotel Miami was great. Not right in the heart of things, but walkable and in a safe area. We loved the hotel and the staff and would definitely stay there again. The Casci is great and is a great location. In Venice I won't bother you with where we stayed since we wouldn't stay there again, lol! In Paris we stayed at the Hotel de Bretagne (a Best Western...but don't be put off by a chain since they are all independtly owned) in the Montparnasse area.

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this, but have a question for all who can help.
We are taking our 13 year old grandson to London the end of April for 8 days.
What suggestions can you give me, here to go, what to see, where to eat.. etc etc??

Please send information to [email protected].
Thanks for all your help.

bubbibear, I think you need to spend some time reading Fodors thread to get an idea on how to plan your trip and how to get some questions answered.

Noone IMHO is going to email you with suggestions or information.

You are going to London with your grandson obviously for 8 days in April.

May I suggest you do some research about some hotels that you think may be appropriate for all of you.

Than figure out what you all want to see and do while in London.

After more or less planning your trip than come back here to Fodors and ask any questions you may have. One hotel versus another for example. Perhaps give your thoughts on what type of food you like and ask for restaurant ideas.

And give budget info. Amount you wish to pay per night for hotel. Amount you wish to pay for dinner per person.

After you do research and more or less plan your trip I am sure questions you post here will generate some good answers from Fodorites who are knowledgable about London.

Also, after you do your research and have questions may I suggest that you start your own thread rather than posting questions onto anothers thread.
This way you will get more answers to what ever questions you have.

Do have fun planning this trip with your grandson. This will be a fun adventure for all of you. I am sure it will be a trip you will all remember with fond memories.

Traveling with four makes finding a place to stay while traveling more difficult. Sometimes we stay in two hotel rooms, sometimes we get a quad ( hard to find in Europe but possible in most places with abit of work). Sometimes we stay in an apartment or aparthotel. In Europe and Asia hotel rooms tend to be small so fitting four does not usually work although there are exceptions. Unfortunately you are only staying a few days at each of your destinations so apartments will probably not work for you. It is also unfortunate that the places we stayed in Italy a few years ago have become quite expensive. I suggest you check Sandra Gustafson's book on lodgings in Italy for some ideas if your search here does not find you something.
