Europe trip for a group of guys

Hello all,

We would like your critique in our itinerary please. The group is 4 males in their late 20's looking to visit a few cities in Europe in early March 2015. We would like to a good balance of sight seeing and night life.

This is our current itinerary:

Saturday: Arrive in Budapest early AM
Sunday: Day in Budapest
Monday: Take train to Vienna early AM, spend entire day in Vienna
Tuesday: Take train to Prague early AM
Wednesday: Prague
Thursday: Prague, fly to Amsterdam in the evening
Friday: Amsterdam
Saturday: Fly back home

This gives us 2 days in Budapest, 1 day in Vienna, 2 days in Prague and 1 1/2 days in Amsterdam. Our other option was to skip Vienna and take a train directly from Budapest to Prague.

Any critique is highly welcome. Thank you in advance!

Any? Are you bonkers?

Four guys, assuming need for legal fun, beer etc then cut any two out. If nothing else it will take a couple of days to find the best clubs. I'd drop Vienna and one of Prague or Budapest.

If not US-type legal fun then just stay in Amsterdam

Thinking a bit deeper you may love Budapest spas a bit. Hetero and Gay ones exist

No it doesn't.
You'll have 1.5 jet lagged days in Budapest, half a day in Vienna, 1.5 days in Prague, 1 day in A'dam.

Huge waste of time/money IMO.

Could you please suggest a different itinerary then. Would doing just Prague and Amsterdam be a better alternative?

Again, this will be our first time in Europe.

alternatively Prague and Paris - i would see what flights you can get and plan round those.

when you aren't drinking, what is it you want to do? see a football match, eat well, what?

There were quite a few groups of young men when we were in Krakov - they seemed to be having quite a good time.

Realistically we'd like to get a ton of outside sight seeing done during the day and go out to bars/clubs in the evenings. Due to chaotic work schedules, we realistically only have this one week in March (Friday to the following Saturday) to do this trip. Certain cities are out of the question due to future trips with significant others (primarily Italy, France, England, Spain). That's how we sort of originally settled on Amsterdam, Budapest, Prague and Vienna.

both Prague and Budapest have interesting old cities to explore [castles] and other old bits, and you probably know that Amsterdam has a wonderful selection of museums, but also a well-know brewery tour, and the chance to rent bikes and go exploring out in the countryside which you might enjoy.

Prague has a particularly interesting microbrewery and a load of WW2 stuff to see.

You need to understand that early March is still winter in Central europe (Prague, Budapest, Vienna) and snow and or very chilly rain are perfectly possible. Be prepared for that in considering sightseeing.

Amsterdam has a milder climate, being closer to the sea and the Gulf Stream that warms western europe.

Pick two and have fun !
Mine would be Prague and Vienna.
