europe travel -air

Hi there. My husband and I are going to be spending three months in Germany this summer. I was wondering what are the best budget airlines to use to get us to : Italy, Spain,, Croatia? those are probably are furthest destinations. Ive been looking into a lot of different ones, however I would like some peoples actual experiences on these airlines. thanks in advance !

Hi,
there are lots of budget airlines that serve those countries, for example Vueling, Easyjet, Ryanair, Iberia, Transavia,... I have traveled by those airlines and they're good in general, with of course some constraints about luggage weight or check in time. In summer they can still be expensive or the cheap tickets have sold out, so you'll have to look for each specific itinerary. I often search for flights by comparing websites, such as on ebookers.com, they'll list all available flights of all those budget airlines for you.

I have flown on Easyjet, Ryanair, Norwegian. Wizz. They all use the same planes and will get you there. But...read the details about baggage and also get other travellers opinions when you choose one.

Best budget? Ryan air hasn't been horrible and German Wings was pretty good.

Go HERE: www.skyscanner.com

How to use the site is pretty much self-explanatory.

Unlike their American counterparts, they don't go to any trouble to hide their contempt for pax.

When considering a budget airline pay attention to the airport they're using. Some use cheaper airports, which can be quite a distance from your actual destination. »Brussels South«, for example, is near Liège.

I've had bad experiences with highly rated airlines and excellent experiences with badly rated airlines. I don't expect great service from any of them, so if I get it, I'm pleasantly surprised.

Oops I meant skyscanner.com but somehow my hand typed ebookers...
I used both sites, but to see all prices, including budget airlines, skyscanner is better.

Don't assume you need an airline...

Munich to Zagreb from €39 by train, www.bahn.de/en German Railways - the journey through the mountains of Austria and alon g the pretty River Sava will be a highlight of your trip!

Munich to Florence, Venice, Rome by Nightjet sleeper train, saves a hotel bill, actually SAVES daytime time over flying and is a unique European experience - from €59 with couchette or from €99 with a bed in a cosy 2-bed sleeper, breakfast included, some sleepers with en suite toilet & shower available, www.oebbb.at or www.bahn.de/en

You can book from anywhere in Germany, not just Munich.
