MSNBC has a new article online with just this exact title (as my subject header here). It's at http://www.msnbc.com/news/422418.asp?0m=-241
To me the title was a slap in the face to Americans as it makes it seem like Americans think all Europeans "talk funny" and that we can't tell the difference between Europe and Canada. Do other people from the USA see this as an insult to American travelers?

Hi all,

actually, that was the main headline in the Washington Post's travel section this past Sunday I guess MSNBC picked it up or something The Post article had pictures, a fairly good article, etc.

While I think Canada is lovely I still would not trade it for Europe though.

and I think the "they talk funny" was meant to be utterly tongue in cheek. (is that why they talk funny?!? JOKE. ;-)

Beth

Actually, I find the Changing of the Guard on Ottawa's Parliament Hill much more entertaining than the one in London. Cross the river into Hull and you can hear all the "funny-talking people" you want, except they're not rude SOB's like their counterparts in Paris.
