Europe itinerary - Portugal & maybe Spain
Hi everyone!
I have 15 days at the end of June to go to Europe. We are flying into London but plan to do most of our travel in Portugal (and maybe Spain). Here are the options: Option A Fly in to London (stay for a couple of days) Fly to Lisbon (stay for a couple days) Go to Tavira in the Algarve for a week Go to Seville in Spain Fly back to London Option B Fly in to London (stay for a couple of days) Fly to Lisbon (stay just outside Lisbon for a week plus a bit) Go to Seville Fly back to London Are these reasonable? And what do people recommend for Lisbon vs Algarve? We have kids and are meeting people that have kids, in total 4, ages 4, 7, 6, 11. Planning on renting a house with a pool in either place, but want to be near some restaurants and markets. Would love some advice! Thanks! KD PS. Is it worthwhile to tack Seville on for a few days? |
The first thing you need to do is to find out if and where there are homes with pools available for your dates. Most home (villa) rentals during high season require a minimum stay, some as long as 4 weeks during the summer months.

In my searches so far I have been able to find them. This is why I want to decide asap!

I would head straight to Portugal or Seville and put your time in London at the end so you don't have to change hotels in London.

How do you intend to go to Seville from Portugal?I'm asking this because the easiest way is by bus, but with kids I'm not sure.

I like plan B) since I just spent 8 days in Lisbon and have not seen nearly everything I wished to see.
I don't think hustling over to Seville is a good idea for this trip. Helena makes a good point about getting to Seville - what looks like a slam dunk on a map is not so easy. TAP flies nonstop in an hour and ten minutes - if the budget allows, then that's what I would recommend. The other options are tiring. See https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Lisbon/Seville |
