Europe itinerary advice
 

Hi, I'd like some advice on my itinerary below - does it seem doable, and any advice on must do's in those cities, or reviews on bus about/megabus/polskibus??

Why are you using buses rather than trains? The trains are so fast and efficient in Europe!

I'm not clear whether you have delineated travel days above, or whether the travel comes out of the days you are spending in places. If, in fact, when it says "London - Paris via megabus vs train" that is a whole day, then your itinerary looks pretty good. If you are taking travel time out of the days in the cities, then you might want to take another look at how you are spending your time. I never count travel days as a day in a place, as you lose much/most of a day in transit.

Personally, I'd take a day or two from Krakow to add to Paris. But if you actually have 4 days in Paris (that is, you are staying 5 nights), that isn't too bad.

Price wise, Busabout was much cheaper to use ~$500, and it connected all the cities I wanted to see. Next trip, I'd probably go with trains lol.
I did set aside specific travel days, so anytime it says place-place, that is a separate day (so, 4 whole days in paris, etc)

Hi Jessie- if you are taking the bus strictly for cost, the train from AMS to Berlin is as low as 39 €, Vienna to Munich 29 €, and Munich to Paris 69 €. These point-to-point tickets have restrictions like 2nd class, non-refundable, buy 90 days in advance, and are good only on the specific trains the tickets were bought for. Compare the prices with the bus tickets...Of course you may meet up with more interesting (to you) folks on the bus...

Agree that I would go with the advance purchase bargain train tickets - will be much more comfy, take less time and may even cost less than the bus. (Sounds like you were comparing bus price with a full price rail pass that is probably not what you would really need.)

Your itinerary is nicely paced, with at least 4 nights in each city and most get 5. The order is good, generally.

Just one question and comment.

You are spending the most time in Krakow and it has the least "things to do" of any of your locations. If there is a reason for that, great, but if you thought Krakow was as rich in sights as the others, you might want to reconsider and add a night to Prague, or Berlin.

Also, can you not find bust transportation from Krakow to Vienna? Going all the way back to Prague just to connect to Vienna adds a great deal of time to the trip. It takes a 4;45 hour drive and turns it into 8:30 hours (before you have to add the time to change busses and wait in Prague to continue back out). Even worse, you pass Brno on the way to Prague, and then come all the way back to Brno from Prague only to continue on south to Vienna. I would think there would be Krakow to Brno, and Brno to Vienna bus or train connections, at least.
