Europe in March
Good afternoon,
we are panning on being in Barcelona, Viena and Munich from March 7 until the 20th. I would really appreciate you helping me telling a little bit about the weather in these places during the month of March. Usually, Is it still cold? Are there leaves on the trees already or it is too soon for Spring? Thank you, |
You can google for average temperatures and weather for just about any village, town, and city on earth. Not that that is going to tell you what this year is going to be like.
We live in SW France. March is generally the dreariest month of the year here. Lots of rain, swollen rivers, cloudy skies, cold at night. There are usually buds on the trees, but just barely. Of course it will be warmer in Barcelona and colder in Vienna and Munich, but no one can say for sure. Watch weather forecasts before you leave and plan accordingly |
.no one knows ..
i was in Barcelona in mid March one year ; it was sunny , we had lunch outdoors...spring was in the air. A couple of years later it rained non- stop for four days, the temp dipped to 12C. It was the end of April! |
The weather in Vienna can vary considerably in March; at least it has for the five years we have lived here. We have had 20º days in February, measurable snow (last year) in mid-April, and have worn parkas to the Easter Markets. As for spring bloom, there generally isn't much until into April, I'm afraid.

Sorry crystal balls on this forum are not working.
Even average weather website cannot predict anything. |
March is about the most unpredictable month of the year for weather. There can be a heat wave or it can be snowing. It can be sunny or it can rain every day. It can be sunny every other hour and raining the rest of the time. It can be warmer in the north than the south. All bets are off.
