where is a good place to go in europe in the beginning of march? (10 day trip)

Laura: Good in what sense, weatherwise? We are having sort of spring weather now. People sat outside in caf&eacute;s today in Zurich. Nobody can tell you about beginning March. It can be almost everything, sun, rain, snow, warm, cold, windy...<BR>What are your interests? A lot of places are "good" in March. If this is your first trip, choose London (no language barrier). <BR>If you are a bit more into adventures go to Paris, Rome, Florence, Vienna, Amsterdam... <BR>Beaches not yet, of course. Too cold everywhere.<BR><BR>

Ursula is right. What are your interests. FYI, I have a two week biz trip set for early March, with two weekends to fill. I'm going to hit Copenhagen and Prague. If it was'nt driven by business, my March trip would probably be to Provence.

Answers to questions like this - - and I've written quite a few of them - - usually start with advice to visit your public library, find what makes your mouth water, play twenty questions with "us", or other approaches to try to find what Europe means to you.<BR><BR>But with only 30 days until you want to leave, a lot of education - - and planning - - should ideally happen very quickly - - because the best deals could slip through your fingers in 10 days' worth of research.<BR><BR>I'm assuming this is a first trip to Europe. Just you? Any others? Any family heritage/roots that drive the trip? Grow up learning any language(s)? or exposed to the culture of any particular place in Europe?<BR><BR>But just as important - - from where are you originating - - and what budget constraints? A trip to Europe (from North America) in March could involve a $300 (USD) trans-atlantic flight - - or an $800 one - - and that could substantially change the overall budget.<BR><BR>Likewise, very often, less experienced travelers make a decent transportation value purchase to get there - - and then bad decisions on transportation costs withIN Europe (like a $500 Eurailpass). Let me back up just a minute and say that I'm going to be in Europe from March 5th till the 19th and I'm going from Zurich to Salzburg to Budapest to Prague to Vienna... so "best" is relative! I was really thinking of weather in my last post :&gt;)
