Jeff You sound angry. Please do turn off your caps lock!
If you want sunshine then try Sicily (tour around, see the Greek temples and climb Etna, the volcano) or try Southern Spain (Granada-to visit the Alhambra Palace for example)
If you don't mind the cold, then Paris has lots to offer. Dublin is also a very lively place and London is always fun with lots of great museums.

I would like to know this also. We are from Australia and dont want to be so cold we cant enjoy our time in Europe in January. Any tips? I thought most guidebooks suggest the Greek Islands pretty well shut down for the winter. Is this correct? Would we be better going to Turkey or Egypt? Help please!
