Europe in February
 

At the end of February, my wife and I are going to London to visit her sister's new baby, we are planning on extending the trip for a week to visit another destination in Europe. Any suggestions for the end of February?

Personally, I am considering a revisit to Andulusia in Febuary.

Other areas I would consider are Sicily and areas of Southern Italy, Rome (if you want a city visit), Provence, Greece ....

Well - give us some sort of idea of what types of things you enjoy. Europe is a biiiiig place and it doesn't close in Feb.

And where have you been before? Do you want to try somewhere new? City folk or somewhere in the countryside? Give us something to work with.

You probably already know this - but don't expect balmy weather anywhere.

My parents found February a great time to visit Paris -- while the weather was not fabulous, the museums and other tourist attractions were uncrowded. More importantly for them, in contrast to their previous 'high season' visits, they felt the Parisians were warm, friendly, and patient with their English at this time of year. It made them appreciate the wonders of the city much more. (I myself have always enjoyed Paris at any time of year to begin with, and you'll certainly be close by . . . .)

I was in London last February. Took the Eurostar for an overnight in Paris. The weather wasn't bad in either location, drizzly but not too cold.

If you don't mind a flight, maybe somewhere south would be warmer...
