Europe for 2 weeks
 

I have a trip planned to Germany and am staying in Europe for 2 weeks. Is it possible to drive from Germany, visit Paris, Florence, Venice, and Rome in just 2 weeks?

I suppose it is possible, if you want to pass through each city on your way to the next one. This is definitely not my travel style, though perhaps it is yours.<BR><BR>2 weeks is enough time to see some of each of the three Italian cities comfortably. I've spent two weeks in Paris alone (with a couple of day trips) as well as one week in Paris and one week doing a loop through some of Brittany/Normandy/the Loire Valley. You could easily combine Paris and London for one week each. Or Paris and one other city that has good transportation options - there are many from which to choose.

Do you have two weeks in addition to time you spend in Germany? Do you have destinations planned IN Germany already?<BR><BR>You CAN drive from Munich to Salzburg to Venice to Florence to Rome to Paris all in about a week- - in fact, you could di it in about 5 days, but that is not a &quot;vacation&quot; - - that's a business trip perhaps.<BR><BR>As with so many trips and itineraries, the first question(s) should be WHY do you THINK you want to go x or y or z? tehre may be destinations that can be linked to your starting (and ending) point that make for a very enjoyable two weeks.<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>[email protected]<BR>

Sure, anything's possible, but why would you want to do it? Just to say you had? Or are these places you are dying to see, and because you're already in Europe it seems like you should &quot;fit them in&quot; to the trip?<BR><BR>How much time are you planning to spend in Germany, and where? Maybe you can hop one of the increasing numbers of cheap, fast flights from Munich or Frankfurt to Paris for a couple of days, or from one of those to Italy. If you rent a car initially in Germany and drop it off in Italy, you'll pay a whopping drop-off charge (perhaps as much as $700, which is ridiculous). But you really need to decide what you want to do, and why, and what your priorities are. There are a million and one ways of getting around Europe, and some people like to do it slowly and some people like to do it fast. It all depends on what your priorities are, and what you have for a budget.

Possibly yes, enjoyable no... well it wouldn't be for me anyway (I could stay for two weeks in any *one* of those cities!). That's just WAY too much time spent in the car for my taste. Mostly what you'd see is the highways and gas stations of Europe!!<BR><BR>My questions before I could answer any better... does the 2 weeks include your time in Germany or is the 2 weeks additional after Germany? If not, how long in Germany? Are you committed to rental car or might you consider using the trains? What city do you fly in and out of (i.e., how much back-tracking do you have to do or want to try and avoid)?
