Europe fares down later this month

I just got a fare alert that reported the airfare I have been following has dropped significantly. Paris is $1000 from Portland, which is down from the $1400 it has been for months.
We've already given up our reserved apartments and have put off our trip until next year :'( .

Rebooking was a thought for a moment, believe me. But our apartments were gone and my heart wasn't into another search. The pickings on VRBO, etc., weren't plentiful and there were too many of the 'contact owner for availability' types.
We're going to Hawaii, nothing to sneeze at but my heart aches a little bit.

I found SFO-CDG late June for under $900! But I am just got back from Italy last month so...

Fares were on Orbitz, think the airline was Continental. These weren't nonstop; believe on the way over stopped in Vancouver so maybe an Air Canada leg?

Hope this helps someone.

pdx, what website are you using for your fare alerts? What months was the $1000 airfare for?

If you are going in SummerTime

Hawaii is tonnes more fun for me.

Lover the Hapuna Prince on the big island

got great summer deal all in uder $1k air car hotel 7 das

on Priceline.com

Like to save Europe till late Sept till it gets cool

and less chock a block with sweaty tourists.

parisbestlodge.com good apts though if you

decide to re-book...

Great fares in fall kayak.com/buzz

Have fun,

RainyDay, I think the alert was orbitz. I wonder why Kayak didn't notify me? Actually, it's hard to remember where I've signed up for alerts as I usually have a few trips being considered.

Quovadis, I'm going to make you my travel agent. You always come up with excellent deals.
We are going to the big island and we didn't get a good deal because we're booking so late. $600 airfare, ouch! But the condo (Kona Coast Resort) is $100/night via someone with a timeshare, so it's not too bad when averaged out. We have two additional nights not reserved so I'll look into Hapuna Prince.
