Europe Drive tour
Just came back from a two week whirlwind drive tour through Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands while picking up a europen delivery car. Spent some time in Munich, Zurich, Luxembourg City, Antwerp and Amsterdam. Will be glad to answer any questions to help plan a trip or city specific question to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks for the offer. I haven't been to Europe in 8 years, I am reading about stickers, autobahn passes, vignettes, etc, that must be purchased and displayed on the car windshield upon entering various countries. I've never had to purchased anything like this on previous trips, maybe it was dumb luck. I know it is fairly new in Austria. I've read that they are easy to obtain if not provided with the rental car. Any experience on this trivial matter?
Cathy: I just returned from Switzerland. I was worried about the same thing. However, the rental car firm took care of it. We had a sticker for Switzerland...didn't need one in Germany...but need one for Austria. Check with your rental & I am sure they will help you.

We are flying into Brussels and renting a car there and will be flying back to the US from Frankfurt. We will have nine days which does not include the Brussels stay. We would like to visit the Netherlands, Switzerland, borders of Austria and then Germany on route back to Frankfurt. Any suggestions would be helpful....

My girlfriend and I are travelling to Europe for the first time. We'll be flying into Frankfurt and heading straight to Luxembourg city, to visit my sister for a couple of days. After that, we're not sure where to go. We have 7 days after our Luxembourg visit to travel around Europe. Any suggestions on places to see would be helpful, as well as the train or rental car option.
I'm interested in visiting either Belgium, France, England and/or Scotland, but I doubt I could manage all that in a week.
Any other helpful hints for a first timer would also be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
