Europe and the Middle East

My wife and I are looking to travel to the following destination August 2015. The Cities we are interested in visiting are: Paris, Prague (with a day trip to Poland), and Istanbul. We have a establish a time commitment of 15 total days including travel time. We would appreciate any suggestions on how to plan itineraries, or comments regarding over planning.

thank you

What do you mean a day trip to Poland?

You have 3 cities in 13 days (I'm guessing the first and last days are getting to and from Europe). You'll need at least a half day to fly between these cities - let's call it 2 days travel between cities. That leaves you 11 days for 3 major cities and that weird day trip. You'll need to fly into Paris and home from Istanbul to avoid backtracking and losing another day.

Paris - 4 days
Prague - 3 days
Istanbul - 4 days

I think it's too much for 3 cities far apart from each other but they are all wonderful cities.

adrienne has given you a workable plan. What she has graciously declined to say is that 3 or 4 days is not nearly enough time in any of these cities. IMO, you might want to consider picking just TWO of them.

Where will you go in the Middle East since all three cities you list are in Europe?

it is worth tracing back otherchelebi to see the various articles he writes on Istanbul, both erudite and amusing.

The Middle East? What are you talking about?

bilboburgler Apr 14th, 2014 07:24 AM

Well is is almost Easter.

The Middle East? What are you talking about?>

Yup Istanbul is in Europe not the Middle East - Asia technically starts on the other side of the water from Istanbul but in no way would I call it Middle East.

Pal - are you picking on a newbie? :o

I'm sorry - but there is no such thing as a day trip from Prague to Poland. (In fact you could do it by air - but you would end up with about 2 or 3 hours on the ground in Warsaw - unless you mean you just want to drive/train to the border and walk across.)

Yes, I am new to posting and traveling. I will be careful about my regions of the world from this point forward.

I appreciate all the comments and thank you for the information. I do agree it may be to ambitious of a trip.

adrienne - since when is correcting information that could be helpful in future posts - titles - picking on? Well if that seems like picking on to youso be it - pas moi!

Reclife it may not appear so but old-timers really love new posters like you. As Clint Eastwood would say it makes their day.

Paris, Prague and Istanbul - 5 days each in Paris and Istanbul and say 3 nights in Prague - given the day trip to Poland is too far to realize. That would be neat and leisurely enough. www.whichbudget.com and www.skyscanner.net for cheap flights between any two cities if they exist. and yes a day trip to Asia once in Isatanbul is a snap - either buses or a car over the new bridge or more lovingly the frequent boats. Not that much of interest on the Asian side but you'll have been in Asia.

A GREAT day trip from Istanbul I took was to the nerby Princess Islands, stuffed with Victorian-era houses - I forget which one we went to - was years ago but I think you can't go wrong and it's a nice boat trip to boot!

If you land at Gokcen Airport you are in Asia.
