Eurofun Bike Tour Lake Garda to Milan

Hello- I am considering a Eurofun bike tour in Northern Italy. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this company? This isn't a luxury tour operator, but, even so, the prices seem a bit on the low side and I am wondering about the quality of the tour (amenities and organization). I was interested in this trip because I have never been to this part of Italy and want an active vacation with beautiful scenery. Here is the route: Desanzano-Brescia-Bergamo-Lake Como-Lago di Varese-Sesto Calende-Milan. I'd appreciate any comments on the tour company or your travels in this area. Thanks!

What do they tell you about the amenities? Do they give you the names of the hotels? How many overnights? Have you traced the exact route (road by road) on a (good) map?

I haven't been on the roads between Desanzano and Bergamo, but I'm not sure this is the "beautiful scenery" you're looking for. If the route drifts up to Lago d'Iseo Sebino, that's a definite improvement.

The Bergamo to Sesto Calende section should be very nice, but you should be aware that a fair amount of smog drifts north from Milan during certain times of the year.

I don't think the Sesto Calende to Milan section will be particularly interesting.

Do you need a tour company? There are many nice day rides from the mid-lake area of Lake Como and a good bike shop in Bellagio if you have an equipment problem. Someone over the past year posted here about their experience renting a bike in Bellagio.

Thanks for the feedback. Usually, I do tons of research and planning for trips, but this is very last minute, which was part of the appeal of a guided tour and also the support for any bike issues. Normally, I would not go on a group tour.

They don't give hotel names, just that they will be 3* and 4* category and the route map is just a basic map showing the cities, I'll have to check out an actual road map. This is supposed to be one of the largest bike trip operators in Europe (based in Austria), but I haven't found any trip reviews. Your day trip idea is a good one. I'll look for that post.

Hi Coll - Like Jean I'm not sure that Desenzano-Bergamo would classify as 'beautiful scenery'.

If that's what you want ... I'd suggest the Dolomites.

After thinking a bit more, I think the previous thread I mentioned talked about renting a bike in the town of Como and riding to Bellagio.
