Euro Travel Quiz # 51- Roads, Streets and Routes...

1- The new Parisian boulevard was called the "Grand Cours", or "Grand Promenade". It did not take the name of ??????? until 1709.

2- What places in Germany does the Castle Road run between?

3- Ditto for the Romantic Road in Germany?

4- London's main shopping drag (Selfridge's)?

5- This tiny street hidden away off Regent Street turned into a 'cool' h
'hip' shopping street for the younger generation and is now one for all generations.

6- Rue Rosiers in Paris runs thru what areas - one the name of the district and the other the name of an ethnic group found in this area, leading it to also be called 'The XXX Quarter.

7- In Zurich this street coming right out of the main train station is often called the world's richest street for its many bank HQ, watch shops and luxurious boutiquews?

8- There is one street in Venice that could resemble other shopping streets in other Italian towns save the lack of motorized transportation - the only such street in Venice I have seen - a wide paved street lined with caffes and ordinary shops like any commercial drag in any Italian city..

9- Copenhagen's long winding main shopping street is called what?

10- This was the main commercial drag in West Berlin before the Wall fell down and is still - near the Zoo train station.

An easy quiz today I think.

Good luck!

nytraveler gets 6 right - #10 is not what I was thinking but it certainly was a main shopping street - Galleries Lafaeyette was and presumably is there. But I think another street more in the center of old West Berlin by the Zoo station was the major artery for shops and still is.

Bedar gets #6

8. I think there are several. In the central complex: Fondamdenta Arsenale, Rio Terra Lista di Spagna. Fondamenta San Simeone Piccolo. Ruga dei Oresi. On Dorsoduro: Rio Terra Foscarini or Fondamenta Nani.

Lots on the Giudecca.

8 - I cannot instantly recall those streets but do they look like the Via Garibaldi as possibly coming out of another Italy city - a very wide street with no canals, etc. But assumingluy they do the bosses would of course give you credit if they at all resemble the Via Garibaldi? A poorly chosen question probably but I have been over every inch of Venice and do not recall such as street - at least as long and wide and lined with ordinary shops - not tourist shops or fancy restos.

quokka of course gets the German things correct! The Castle Road once ended in Nurnberg but later was extended to Prague.
