Back by not so popular demand but here goes today's quiz:

2- What are the fabled Misral winds and what direct do they blow and where?

3- In Amsterdam the Melkweg is very famous for years now - what is the Milky Way as it is called in English and where is it?

4- What is San sebastian, Spain's name in the local language of Basque?

5- In France what is the basic diference between a Boulangerie and a Patisserie?

6- Hatfield, a small town just north of London, is known for Hatfield House, one of Britain's fine stately houses/estates - but what famous even happened near Hatfield on the railway several years ago?

7- To get to Paris' Euro Disney what RER station would you get off at (same name as the all-new planned town it is in?

8- Marco Polo allegedly was born on this Adriatic island - even though facts may not prove it nevertheless there is a Marco Polo House on this island.

9- What are the infamous words (in German or English translation) emblazzoned on the entrance gate to Auschwitz Concentration Camp/Memorial.

10 - Mosel white wines are highly touted - the Mosel is one of Europe's most northerly wine-producing regions due to the deep gorge and dark slate stones that where the valley faces south allows it to be warm enough to have vineyards. Q - What is the official name of this wine growing region - not just Mosel but Mosel-????-???? wine district (names of two other river valleys nearby).

Good luck and the winner wins (plus S&H)!

I guess annhig is boycotting now - or girlcotting actually because of past reprimands, rather unfairly done IMO but he's the final arbitrator from Percy - she is on double secret probation but does not know that (don't tell her either!)

PalenQ Jan 23rd, 2015 04:48 AM

Well I was thinking of Damme instead of Zeebrugge for #1 but can justify Zeebrugge as well - so I'll go with percy's being more forgiving and Zeebrugge does make sense though more than 5 miles from Bruges - I've biked between Zeebrugge and Bruges (Zeebruges?) many times but it ain't that far so here's to the winner, hetismij2!
