Euro Quiz #3 - Europe's Ten Biggest Castles...

How many can you name - and they are talking about the original castle so even if mainly now in ruins and yes this list may be open to suspect but hey just for the fun of it!.

I have been to six of them - how many have you been too?

What about those real old Castles-Vernon and Irene?

Fortress Königstein in Saxon Switzerland covers 9.5 ha, so more than twice as large as Spis Castle, Slovakia, which is listed.

Have seen 7 of them - but didn't know they were the largest. And does this include only area within the walls or all of the outside grounds as well?

Just three.. but does size really matter? ;-)
OTOH, we have so many castles in Germany that it is a bit like with malls.. when you have seen two or three, you have seen them all...

You need at least six days at each castle. And you lose half day travelling between castles. That's 62.5 days to see all of them.

Remember - more is more.

I've only visited two, and taken the train past a third.

Guess I know where I should go on the free trip I won yesterday!
