Interesting data on the number of Golden Arches per capita in various European countries - can you guess the top five countries.

that's all - first to come up with the top five in any order wins today's mega prize - a free McDonalds (empty) coffee cup - with warning "Caution It's Hot!"

France
England
Germany
Spain
Italy

These are the biggest countries in Europe.

Well Iceland won't be on the list since McD withdrew from there a few years back. They used to have the honour(?) of the most expensive Big Mac in the world.

Britain and Germany will be on the list, plus probably a Scandinavian or two, Sweden or maybe Norway. France has a lot of McDs too, thank goodness - I can use their free WiFi when on holiday there :). Wouldn't eat there but the coffee is OK.

I don't think Spain or Italy will be on it for a per capita list.

Yup Percy is way off on Spain and Italy - way way down the list - kind of shocking to me that Austria tops the list - Austria - dour Austria! Who wouduv thunk that!

hetismij2 May 28th, 2015 04:08 AM

Just had a look at the link. Austria is second I think.
Still a shocker though .

PalenQ May 28th, 2015 05:54 AM

Yes indeedy - Sweden is first - OK not unexpected but Austria Big Mac lovers?

Percy May 28th, 2015 07:23 AM

I just looked at the link now !!

I simply named the 5 biggest countries in Europe.

I cannot recall seeing a McDonalds in Vienna but they must be there.

Belgium is so so low compared to say France - I guess it's because of those ubiquitous Frtien or Frites stands on practically every corner - snack wagons selling all kind of snack foods, especially French Fries - invented or at least popularized here I believe.

Italy is low for maybe local slow food opposition that has stimied McDonalds from expanding I believe.
