My first quiz question (see link before) was met with derision, confusion and
and fault finding - all justified IMO - see here is the 2nd quiz question - I'll try to make this one absoutely crystal clear:

Euro Geography Quiz #2:

What continent is Europe a part of?

Stay tuned for #3 coming soon!

Good luck!

Nope wrong answer - guess again! The winner gets a free trip to Europe (not including air fare, accommodations, transportation and meals and incidentals also not included!)

Cranachin Nov 26th, 2014 12:17 PM

Europe is not part of any continent. It is a continent!

;)

PalenQ Nov 26th, 2014 12:20 PM

Bingo! Cranachin wins the 'free' trip - departure must be within one hour of answer to qualify!

Good job adn Bon Voyages!

Well, now you made me look this up. According to the National Geograhic:

"By convention there are seven continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica. Some geographers list only six continents, combining Europe and Asia into Eurasia. In parts of the world, students learn that there are just five continents: Eurasia, Australia, Africa, Antarctica, and the Americas.

So, I'll just give myself a correct. It's tough being a teacher Pal.

"National Geograhic"

Of course I get an incorrect on spelling.

mailaitom - I thought I picked a question beyond reproach but... so you win the free trip but only IF you depart within an hour! clock is ticking!

Bon voyage!

How did you manage to get Flanner to agree to allow these stupid colonists to actually stay in that shed on the back of the property in the Cotswolds for free, Pal?

bvlenci Nov 27th, 2014 12:59 PM

Italians count five continents: Europe, Africa, Asia, America, and Oceania.

Cowboy1968 Nov 27th, 2014 01:53 PM

We are definetely not Eurasia.
Eurasia is used as a term in geography or geology like in the Eurasian landmass or such.
But it has no relevance in describing the continent in everyday language when you asked a German, Italian or Spaniard.
Though the borders are merely by convention, of course.
