This plummeting dollar is out of control!!! How can this still go on? Europe is just too expensive and then London, everything is double the price that it is here. Don't let anyone fool you. Especially one know it all New Yorker. Its riduculous! God bless America and please bless the dollar while you are at it!

You are obviously way too poor to go to Europe. I think you should just give it up and stay home.

Also, please stop posting here - it is way too irritating!

It's terrible, I agree -- how can they allow it? (There oughta be a law! LOL)

I suggest you do the following:

Buy a ticket to West Africa. Stay in local guest house. Visit inexpensive AIDS hospice -- a cheap day out. Give everything in your wallet to the orphans clustered around the hospice gates. They won't notice the diminished rate of exchange, I guarantee.

Wow praline! Buenos Aires in February and London in March. You seem to be a regular Rockefeller! Why then all the concern over the falling dollar?

It could be that the ECT has worn off, or maybe it's the high price of meds in the USA.

Grandmere1: you are right of course and I usually hold myself above such nonsense...LOL but sometimes it's kind of like an itch that ya' just gotta scratch. But yea you're right and I'm not going to "play" anymore..besides I still have presents to wrap and need to get back to it.

Yes London is a part of Europe, but she has pulled London out of euro Europe since London is using the pound. At close to $2 a pound she is looking at double.

just returned from england and germany....while the euro is at $1.30+ it was not all that bad...things seemed to be somewhat normal price and meals were managable...there are bargains to be had...

england...now that is another matter...it is out of control...while i have been there over 30 times this time it really bothered me....everything is so expensive ...a dessert, even i a simple restaurant or put is $8-10....thats just an example...we will not rush back to england in the forseeable future, except maybe for a day stop over on B/A or a short visit to friends...

stick with europe proper and you should be ok...italy may be an exception...and of course all scandanaian countires....
