Eurail Travel Guide Book
I have done a little research on the Eurail system on the Internet, but would really like to purchase a Eurail Guidebook.
What is your favorite Eurail Guidebook?
Thank you

Are there any new updated Eurail Guidebooks?
For printed book the Thomas Cook's European Timetable is my favorite - back in print after its parent company closed it and staffers brough it back to life. IMO you cannot now beat the online sources such as my three favorites - www.seat61.com - becoming the new guru of European rail travel; www.ricksteves.com and www.budgeteuropetravel.com - in case you have not been to those very informative sites. www.raileurope.com, the purveyor of most passes in the U.S. thru their own site and agents. http://www.acprail.com/ - ACP Rail's site - they also wholesale and sell directly passes and have a lot on their site about European trail travel.
The Eurail Guidebooks I have seen to me are not worth the paper they are printed on such things are changing so much in European rail - like the whole ticketing system and many new high-speed trains - a printed guide may be outdated a day after published.

Why do you need a EurRail guide book? EurRail does not list all the trains available so it's not accurate.
EurRail is not a system but a company selling train tickets and passes.
Use the sites listed above for up to date, accurate information.

Here's an example. I went to Amazon and opened the EurRail 2014 book, selected a random few pages which happened to be Austria to Salzburg.
There are 5 trains shown in the book, starting at 5:56 and ending at 9:56. The book shows 1 train per hour when there are 3 trains per hour between Vienna and Salzburg. So you are getting 1/3 of the schedule.
The guide book part of this book is sadly brief.
