Hi,
I need to travel from
Milan to venice

Over 2 weeks and have no idea if i should buy a 4 day eurail pass
or just buy my tickets as i go.
Any suggestions would be great thanks

This is a do-it-yourself item.

You know the price of the pass plus supplements you have to pay to ride ES trains.

You can find out the pay as you go prices at www.trenitalia.com. Don't worry about schedules not out when you go. Just use next week dates.

Italian trains are very cheap.

Compare the prices, then decide. It's almost certainly cheaper to buy as you go.

A pass is almost never cost effective for Italy. The pass does not include the price of seat supplements (usually around 15E) that are required on any of the faster trains. The prices on Trenitalia include your seat.

Some of your routes you will need to enter a date within the next 7 days to get the prices because parts of the route will may be on slower trains. For some reason, Trenitalia doesn't want to price the slow trains further out than a week. Also Trenitalia seems to be having a problem getting their summer schedules online, but they will be similar to current schedules with maybe a few more trains added on the most popular routes.
