Eurail Paper Tickets - needed or just invoice?

So we are planning a family trip to Europe to ride the rails with a 3 month Eurail pass (1st class). However, we are finding that many tickets for reservations have to be sent as "paper tickets", and need to be sent to a mailing address. While inconvenient, we have convinced some of our Air BNB hosts to accept mail for us, which hopefully works out as the delivery for those tickets is July 29th (when booking June 13th!!). Today (June 14th) we tried to book Prague to Berlin and the delivery is August 9th (shifted almost 2 weeks in one day!!), the day before we leave Prague. So, the concern for us is whether they will arrive on time given how much the delivery time just changed.

Does anyone have experience with paper tickets as to whether we can get them printed at the train station or if the 'invoice' for the tickets is sufficient? We just don't know how concerned we should be if we don't have the paper tickets with us.

Many thanks in-advance,

James

Hopefully you haven't purchased the Rail Pass yet. Do thoroughly read the site bilboburgler linked. There are the odd situations where a Eurail Pass makes sense, but they are awfully expensive and in general, point to point tix can be cheaper (bought in advance or sometimes on the day)

TY for the link. I took a look, and while it discusses paper tickets, it does not seem to cover what you can do if you do the ticket does not arrive on-time. Hoping someone has a solution to this potential problem - I would hate to find me and my family held up in Czech jail for not having the paper copies with us! ; )

Yes, we bought the Eurail pass a while back - it is not cheap, for certain... I did see on the web that it probably would have been cheaper to have booked point to point, but it has been reasonably handy to go to one website to book the trains... Thank you for the response!

I am amazed you need paper tickets rather than emails or pdfs on your phone.

Me too. Isn't there an app for that?:)
