EU Visa Question
Hello! I am US citizen and was studying abroad in Spain from January 4- May 8 on a type D long-term visa (the visa technically expired July 17 but I left early). I have another trip to Spain planned for August 8-21. Am I able to go on this trip when factoring in the 90/180 day rule? Do days on I spent in Spain on the visa count towards my 90 days or do I still have an additional 90 days? I have read all different answers and most of them were older, so I figured I would ask. Thanks!

90 days will have elapsed between May 8 and August 8, so you will be fine.
|
But do the days spent on the visa count towards my 90 days? Since I spent more than 90 days on the visa there does that change anything or dip into the next period I can go?
|
AFAIK the student/long stay visa stay is entirely separate and has its own rules/requirements. This trip would trigger a new/'normal' 90 day period like any US visitor would have.

I am hoping I will not have any issues.
