That clearly depends on the airline . . we have flown Continental several times with e-tickets and did not need the credit card we purchased the ticket with. . only something that had my name eletronically . .

When I fly for business, my employer buys my E-tickets on mostly Continental and Delta. I've never had a problem using the automated check-in terminal to print a boarding pass with my own credit card. If I did have a problem, I would just have the ticket agent print one up.
