Estonian based International Sim Card offer....good?
I am wondering about the rates for the telecard here. 6 cents a minute to the USA from European countries. I'm not concerned about incoming calls. It is an Estonian based phone number, apparently why it is cheap. However, I can't quite understand the wording of the 5 dollar a month fee, how long this lasts.
Anyone interested in this site or able to decipher better than me the fee schedule?

I don't understand what you are saying about the rate on the site I found. It clearly says 0.6 cents a minute from Europe to USA.

Once the site you provided works, I'll check it out. All I want is cheap minutes, don't care where the number is based, unless I'm missing something about the significance of that...we don't have anyone calling us.

$0.6. Oh. (Not the first time I've been wrong, ha, ha.) Yeah, that must be 60 cents. Thanks for pointing it out. My bad.
I haven't seen 60 cents printed that way, sort of slow on the uptake.

There are a whole bunch of Estonian international cards..I have one I got from airbaltic.com which is 0,50€/minute to the USA from Europe with free receiving throughout Europe.
Here's the rub with these cards, especially if people are calling you from the USA....the termination fees for calls to Estonian mobiles, just like to Liechtenstein mobiles, are asininely high. So if you give your Estonian number to a friend and receive their calls for free, when they get their bill they won't be your friend for long.
Right now, a way around this is to purchase a US toll free number from enlinea (www.enlinea.com)....the fee is holding at about 21¢/minute...you can also use them (they run a very similar operation as callbackworld, as a matter of fact, they use the same isp to actually make the calls, with calls to the USA from any country with the free roaming for 21¢/minute...the problem is we all remember what happened with United Mobile...once many people started using it, cbw and enlinea raised their rates to higher rates then even using the international capabilities of united mobile.
United mobile is pushing a new product called united mobile plus....instead of a Liechtenstein number .+423 country code, you get a UK country code +44 card and rates are lower (0,29€/minute with a 0,25€ per call set up fee with most of the European countries on board for free roaming. Sounds like a good deal but the number is not really a UK number but rather a Jersey number and we are discovering that many ld carriers in the USA do not recognize the number and cannot complete calls to it and they are apprently having some start up problems (see www.prepaidgsm.net )
However, united mobile has been a reputable company and one would suspect they will correct these problems...my own feeling is that because of the business they were quickly losing on the Liechtenstein number with the ridiculously high termination fees, they were forced to rush the product out before completing beta testing (in effect the new customers are beta testers)...they are also offering a free exchange for the original +423 card and free balance transfers...you should also be aware that both cbw and enlinea charges are very high on UK mobiles.

Thank a lot for the info xyz123, I just "upgraded" one of my +423 cards to the new UM+. If it's only 10ct/min to reach it, like IOM cards, it's worth a try. Just maybe some phone companies forget to add that range to their "mobile" numbers. Skype used to charge 2.1ct to IOM mobiles for over half a year. Maybe we're lucky this time too.
