Escorted travel Scotland-England

I understand that most travelers on this forum do not do escorted travel, but my mother (86) would like to do a cruise or an escorted trip to Scotland and England. She can afford a nice one! Can anyone recommend a company that truly makes it a special trip, takes care of customers, etc.? Many thanks, Susan

For absolutely the highest-end possible escorted private trip to the UK, replete with possibilities for exclusive experiences (viewing the Changing of the Guard from within the Wellington Barracks, sitting in Churchill's chair in the War Rooms, etc.), Noteworthy Events is absolutely top notch. http://www.noteworthy.co.uk/what-we-do/

Other excellent possibilities include Original Travel UK (http://www.originaltravel.co.uk) and a US-based company, Celebrated Experiences (https://celebratedexperiences.com/about/).

The correct urls (the trailing parens mess up the links)

Original Travel UK http://www.originaltravel.co.uk

Celebrated Experiences https://celebratedexperiences.com/about/

Tauck also does higher end tours

There are also cruises that go round the UK [they often take in Southern Ireland because of the wonderful gardens] but I've no recommendations to make as to boats to book etc.

Thanks all. I will look at all of these. Two companies that have come up are Belle France (cruise down the Loire Valley) and Artisans of Leisure. I appreciate your help.

My mum's 82 and over the past some years finds cruises the easiest way to travel, the ship takes her from place to place while she stays in the same cabin and doesn't have to deal with flights, trains, etc. This June we took her on a Southampton RT cruise on Celebrity, the cruise included ports in Normandy, Ireland and the UK. Not my ideal vacation but it works for mum.

That said we spent 3 days in the Champagne region and a week in the Loire last month and my mother joined us and actually did quite well, she chose only specific outings and was happy to stay home with a book at our gite at other times.

The Loire Valley cruise should be good, the chateaux in that area are quite magical.
