Entering Denmark from Germany
 

I will be in Germany next June with my husband and two children aged 25and 23. We would like to go to Denmark for 2 days to visit a friend. What is the best way to do this . Can anyone inform us the cheapest way to do this thanks Win

If you're going to be in Flensburg and your friend's in much of southern Denmark, just walk to the nearest bus stop and get a local bus over the non-existent and now invisible border. If you're in Berlin and want to get to Copenhagen, prebook on Air Berlin as far ahead as possible.

Only you know where you're going to be and where you want to get to. Without such information, no-one here's going to be able to give you any useful information at all.

You can also go by rail from Hamburg.

We will be staying in Kassel but thought that we might travel to Hamgurg . We will not have a car .thanks Win

If you feel like eating a traditional hotdog right when you enter Denmark, go to Annies Kiosk. They make the best hotdogs in the country! :-)

Walk across the border.

there is an overnight train running from Cologne to Copenhagen - join it wherever you can - save a night in a hotel and save travel time - www.bahn.de/en has some discounted tickets if you book weeks in advance to get those limited in number tickets.

This train goes direct - no changing at the border.

From Kassel it is easy to get to that overnight train and if going to Hamburg there are several daily direct trains from there to Copenhagen - trains that use a train ferry to get to Denmark.

There are direct trains from Hamburg to Copenhagen leaving every two hours and take 4 3/4 hours.

VikBee - one of my lasting memories of Denmark is the hotdogs. The best I've ever had.
