Ensuite bathroom

This should be easy. Could anyone tell me what an "ensuite bathroom" is in reference to a hotel room that advertises "ensuite bathrooms"? I'm referring to the ad for the Europa in Madrid.

ensuite = bathroom in your bedroom (what would be called private in the States)

private = your own private bathroom but down the hall

shared = sharing bathroom w/ 1 or more other rooms.

What JanisJ says. Seriously, it means the bathroom is IN your hotel room, not somewhere else
:-)

re:'private' (janisj's post)...just a caution that on the continent, you don't know which flavour of english the website/brochure has been translated into. best to ask if this is ever an issue.

but, as already said, ensuite is always attached to your room.

Thank you, thank you. You are all so helpful.
I found this site just a few days ago. What a wonderful, caring group of people you are!
