Ennis lodging advice
Could someone give me advice on where to stay in Ennis? I am looking for a moderate priced place($100-$200)that is not to far from Ennis town center. Would love to know anyone's favorites for hotel or B&B. Thank You!

I haven't stayed in Ennis but just outside of town at the Lakeside Country Lodge. (http://www.lakeside.ie/). It's a beautiful place and will cost you less than the price you are looking at. Probably around 100-120 (depending on the exchange)for two. The location is beautiful and it's about a 5-10 minute ride into town.

I've stayed at the Old Ground, the Temple Gate and the Queen's Hotels, a GuestHouse called Derrynane that's not there anymore, the Abbey Tourist Hostal (Temporary Closure), and Rose Cottage B&B. My favorite is John Madden's (managed by son, Paul Madden) Temple Gate. It is in the Center of Ennis & has ample parking. I stayed at the Temple Gate on 4-occasions, most of the others just once.
At the Queen's Hotel they'll warn you of the noise when you check in; I had no problem with that because I planned to be part of the noise problem at Cruise's Pub, next door (Trad Irish music every night). |
I agree with Nedsireland about Temple Gate, I've only stayed three times but two times I stayed 4 to 5 nights. I've looked at Old Ground and it looks good also. Both are right in the center of town.

Thank you for your help!

One night in Grey Gables was "okay" when we stayed in April. 2 nights would have been too much. I posted a short review here back in May.
