Ennis and Galway Sights and where to stay

Is Ennis a better base for exploring the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Galway or would it be better to split 4 days between Galway and Ennis. Need to be at Ennis last for Shannon departure. Appreciate advice on your lodging recommendations and any other sights to see within an easy drive of Ennis and Galway.

"If you want to add Galway take a night from Waterford and a night from Kenmare so slip Galway and a day out into the Connemara between Dingle and Ennis."

If you now have 4 nights above Shannon one option is to head through the Shannon Tunnel, call into Bunratty and Quin Abbey then up to Galway for 3 nights. That gives 2 days, One day for the Connemara and One day for the Aran Isles (Inis Mor)
Your last day head down through west Clare seeing the Cliffs and Burren before a last night out in Ennis.

For your Shannon departure I highly recommend 2 B&B's in Bunratty...drive out the carpark, turn right and you are directly on the way to Shannon Airport. Let me know if you are interested.

We enjoy visiting Craggaunowen.

Jaja I am interested in the Bunratty B&B's. Thanks Tony2phones. We eliminated Waterford and so have the 2 extra days for Ennius/Galway.

Here you go. So easy to find them....just take the low road to your right leaving the Bunratty Folk Park carpark. At the very end is a petrol station and across the road:
headleycourt.net to your right and to your left Bunratty Lodge (I cannot find a website but perhaps you will have better luck).
These are run by a mother-in-law (Mary Browne of Bunratty Lodge) and daughter-in-law (Kathleen Browne of Headley Court) and they are both wonderful.
As I said, extremely easy to get to Shannon Airport from here.

We stayed here. Very nice. Very friendly hosts.
Had a fun evening at Bunratty Castle Banquet last night before our morning flight home from nearby Shannon Airport.

We also like to stay in Bunratty our last night. We can recommend Penny at Dubaree, and we also stayed at Bunratty Meadows - a lovely setting.

Mary Browne no longer runs her B&B, I think she stopped a few years ago, but Headley Court is still open. There are a few different options for dining. We always seem to end up at the Creamery but like JP Clarkes, too, on the pub/bar side.

Sorry, that should be Dunaree.

Thanks, Allisonm. I wondered if Mary Browne hadn't retired since I could no longer find her website. Well, Headley Court is still wonderful.
We like the Creamery also.
