English theatre at théâtre 95 - Cergy-Pontoise Cédex (outside Paris?)
ACT Theater is showing Pygmalion at this theatre when we will be there next month, with shows at 10:00 and 14:30.
http://perso.orange.fr/act.theatre/S...cSeas2Cal.html
The directions, though, indicate that the theatre is a little bit out of the way. The address is:
Allée du Théâtre
BP 98
95021 Cergy-Pontoise Cédex
The directions are:
en RER
ligne A3, direction Cergy-le-Haut.
My concern is the standard one about what sort of neighborhood this is. Has anyone been there? Is it okay to walk 300m here?

Don't worry, I know Cergy well, and it is perfectly safe. (Not all the Paris 'banlieues' are ghettos!)
However, be aware that Cergy has zero charm -- it's one of those 'new towns' from the 1960s & 70s, when France let urban planners run amok. To break up the ride from Paris, you might stop off at a more pleasant town enroute, like Conflans or Maisons Laffitte (see posts about them elsewhere on this board.)

Thanks for the information. I'm glad to hear it's OK.
The funny thing is I wrote to ACT Theatre (in English) and got a reply back in French indicating there are no Pygmalion performances on that date, although this link indicates there are:

I think I will have to call to confirm. Thanks for the info about Conflans and Maisons Laffitte. I didn't want to wander into a situation where "fools rush in where angels fear to tread".

That theatre has its own website with schedules etc, so maybe that would be a better place to look. It also gives a reservations phone number if you need it:
http://www.theatre95.fr/spectacles/0607.html
It also shows performances on Feb 6, 8 and 9 of Pygmalion. It says you can buy tickets on FNAC.com, though, and fnac does list performances for that theatre, but not that one. It only seems to list performances through January, though, maybe you should try later (or maybe that production was cancelled, it happens).
If you go to fnac.com and just type "cergy" into the Spectacles search box, it shows tickets for that theatre.

There's also a production of Pygmalion at yet another theatre, but no indication it's in English, that I can see:

It would be interesting if they somehow adapted the storyline to French, though.

I actually found a video with a few scenes from one of the productions, and indeed they do the play in French (at least the production I am looking at). The scenes look very familiar otherwise.
