English name Northey

My father was born within the sound of the bow bells-so he said. My daughter honored him by using his middle name for our grandson. Not having anyone alive here in the US that ever heard it pronounced, we chose to say "Nor-thee". Of course everyone here after reading it says "North-ee". Any idea what's usual in England?
I know it's not a travel question! Please forgive.

For what it's worth, a Brit called Northey and transplanted to Canada pronounces it NOR-thee.

There's a whole clan of Northeys in my hometown. They pronounce it with a fairly soft "th", not like the direction+ee.
