england car rental;should we do inclusive or exclusive insurance

I am looking to book a car through BA holidays. Is there somewhere else I could get a better rate? They are running a special that sounds pretty good, but I'm not totally sure. Could use some advice. I am a little confused on whether I will really need to have an automatic or not what with driving on the other side and all. What is your opinion on that? Also, my insurance will not carry over and I'm not sure if I will need just the basic exclusive ins. that BA offers or the more involved inclusive. Thanks for any information you can offer.

Try www.autoeurope.com.

If you have never driven on the left and you are not very familiar with manual, get an automatic. If you drive a manual all the time at hoime, then you should be able to mamage.

Insurance: before you sign up for any insurance, talk to your credit card issuer. They may cover you completely and will tell you exactly what to do.

When you say your insurance will not carry over -- what do you mean? Most of us renting cars in Europe (particularly the UK) check with our credit card companies to see if they will cover us if we decline all insurance. In many cases the coverage is not only free that way, but it is more complete than the deductible left over after you pay for it with the rental company. Call and check with your credit card company.

my insurance will not carry over and I have called my credit card and they will provide Collison Damage Waiver;will that suffice? Do I really need all the other things like Theft protection?
